How to make a Circle Pendant

The pattern is super easy. Just 1 seed bead one side, 2 on the other side and cross at the fire polished bead. You can make the circle bigger or smaller by using more or less fire polished beads. I added a jump ring to the circle for hanging. Design your signature piece by using different combination of beads.

Materials
20 4mm Fire Polished glass beads (garnet)
size 11 seed beads (antique gold)
5 feet fishing line

How to make a Christmas Ring

This is a basic ring band making technique. Try using non-festive colors for a different look.

I made a mistake when adding the second layer of white beads. You should restring the green bead (missed in the instruction at ~4:13) and then the two white beads and add two more white beads for the first set. Afterward, just restring the two white beads and add two white beads.

Materials:
Size 11 seed beads - green, red, white opal
Fishing line about 30 cm in lenght

A Beaded Christmas Tree

I made this Christmas tree in white. You can easily change it to a more colorful version by using green bicone and bugle beads and seed beads in different colors. I didn't use Swarovski crystal beads for this project. I used some crystal-like glass beads that are fraction of the cost of Swarovski crystals. The cutting of these crystal beads are not as precise as Swarovski but still do the job well.

Materials:
30 4mm bicone crystal beads (opal)
15 6mm bugle beads (white)
size 11 seed beads (silver-lined)
4 4mm crystal cubes (opal ab)
1 4mm crystal rondelle beads
Fishing line - approximate 15 cm for each layer
1 2.5"head pin

Beaded Christmas Wreath

Pretty easy once you repeat the pattern a few times. You can use 4 or 5mm bicone beads instead of rondelle beads as well.

Materials:
21 5mm Faceted crystal rondelle beads (dark green)
21 4mm Fire Polished beads (light green)
seed beads - size 11 (red)
seed beads - size 11 (gold)

Fishing line - 70cm

A Fuchsia Ring

With this ring you learn the technique of adding a bezel-like ring around the center bead. You can use seed beads instead of bugle beads and bicone crystal or round beads for the fire polished beads.

Check out basic techniques for how to make the ring band.

Materials:
1 8mm Crystal bead (Fuchsia)
8 4mm Fire polished beads (violet/rose two-tone AB)
3mm bugle beads (Pink Iris)
90cm fishing line

9 - 3mm round beads (black)
2 - 4mm fire polished beads (black)
8 - 4mm round bead (black)

How to make a Mushroom with Beads

This reminds me of a Super Mario Brothers mushroom. It's very important that you restring all the beads otherwise it'll be too soft at the top to hold up the shape.

Materials:
30 - 4mm bicone beads (green)
size 11 seed beads (transparent)
size 9 seed beads (white)
90cm fishing line
1 - 2" head pin
1 - 4mm fire polished bead (white)
Round Nose Pilers
Wire cutter

How to Make a Little Bear Head

I used 3mm bicone beads for this bear. It turns out very tiny - about 1cm x 1.5cm. Good size for a charm or cell phone attachment. I'm trying to figure out how to add a body to the head . . .

Materials:
40 - 3mm bicone beads (brown)
3 - 3mm bicone beads (black)

35cm fishing line

A Blue Crystal Beaded Flower

This is a simpler version of the Rose Pendant. Similar concept: adding rows and rows of different beads combination. If you want to make a ring out of this, start the ring band at the 4mm blue fire polish bead.

Materials:
8 3mm bicone crystal beads (hematite)
4 4mm fire polished glass beads (sapphire)
4 3mm fire polished glass beads (black diamond AB)
4 4mm bicone crystal beads (black diamond)

How to make an Angel with Beads

I thought the beads I used for the wings were called dagger beads. But upon closer look, dagger beads are straight but the beads I used are slightly curved. I'm not sure what they're called. Heart shape or leaf shape beads would work as long as the hole of the bead is on the flat side of the bead. You can also replace the skirt with cone shape beads. Try different combination of beads for fun results.

Materials:
1 6mm roundell crystal bead
2 6mm round pearl beads
3 4mm bicone crystal beads
2 8mm leaf/heart shape beads (for the wings)
1 4mm diamond crystal
6 3x6mm rice shape pearl beads, size 11 seed beads

1 head pin
2 15 cm fishing lines

How to make a Doggie Head with Beads

This doggie head was done by connecting a front piece (the one with eyes and nose) and a back piece with whole bunch of cross stitches like how we assemble the Cross. I used a cell phone lanyard that has lobster claw clasp to clip on the bead. You can add jump ring to it to make charm and pendant or sting a ring band from the side to make a ring.

Materials:
Head: 41 4mm bicone crystal beads
Ears: 14 4mm bicone crystal beads
Eyes and Nose: 3 4mm round beads
Fishing lines:
3 x 20cms for front and back pieces and connecting the two pieces
2 x 10cm for ears

How to Make a Star with Beads

I am demonstrating this star using seed beads. You can use bugle beads instead of seed beads for the sides of the points like the white one below. Also try using different color for the core like the blue-and-white star below. I used 3mm beads in bicone shape for the blue-and-white star and used only 2 beads for each side of the point instead of 3.

Materials:
Core: 15 beads
Points: 65 beads
Fishing Line: 40 cm (if you use size 11 seed beads)

How to Make the "Phoenix" Ring

These videos will show you how to make Phoenix's sister "Iris" :). Technique is the same for Phoenix, just different color combination.

Materials:

Fishing line approximately 1.5 meters

Size 11 seed beads
Iris: Purple (metallic), Light Tangerine, Light Lime (AB), Green (AB)

Phoenix: Blue (metallic), Orange (sliver-lined), Topaz(silver-lined), Red

Note: I mistakenly mentioned tangerine in a few spots while narrating instruction for the last row. For the last row, the left side sequence should be lime-green-lime (no tangerine).

Approx. 30 cm fishing line

How to Make a Simple Bag with Beads

The bag is made up of whole bunch of cross stitches. I used 4mm seed beads here. It would look much nicer with bicone crystal beads. If you make the body of the bag bigger and not closing the bottom nor adding the handle you'll have a ring.

Materials:
Top color (green/silver lined transparent) - 24 4mm beads
Bottom color (purple/blue) - 35 4mm beads
Handle and decoration - tiny seed beads Charlotte Cut

Variation: I used size 11 seed beads to make the black and white bag. It turns out to be super cute. For the last step, instead of adding beads between the white beads to fill the gap I thread the fishing line through the white beads and tie the ends together to create a "gathered" effect.

How to make a Puffy Heart - 2nd try

Puffy Heart is a difficult piece to demonstrate. I'm giving it a second try by using different colors of beads for each section of the heart. Hope the instruction is clearer this time. I accidentally deleted the instruction for the first section so I am re-using the video from the previous tutorial.

Material:
76 bicone beads(I'm using 6mm bicone plastic beads in this video. I used 4mm bicone swarovski crystal beads in the previous video)

100cm fishing line for the first 3 sections

50cm fishing line for the last section

A few beads to fill the heart if you want a puffier heart. Use 8-10mm round beads if you use 6mm bicone beads. 5-6mm round beads for 4mm bicone beads.

This is a smaller version of the Two-Tone Crystal Ring.

Material for this ring:

White seed beads size 9
Light blue seed beads size 11
1 meter monofilament cord (fishing line)

How to make a Rectangular Beaded Bead

You can lengthen the beaded bead by adding more rows. I think one row makes a nice looking spacer bead. Also, experiment with adding more seed beads and crystal beads per row. For example, increase seeded beads to 10 and crystal beads to 5 per row; 12:6, 14:7 etc.. Or use different colors for each row.

Black Lace Pendant Tutorial

I like how delicate this pendant look. I used 4mm bicone crystal beads as the main beads. Fire polished beads would look great as well. Just realized the part where I explained how to make the bail is quite fuzzy - sorry about that. But I think that part is quite straight forward - just make a few basic cross stitches. Feel free to ask for clarification if you got stuck at that part. Thanks.

How to make a Rabbit with Beads

The rabbit is composed of two beaded balls. So please be familiar with how to make beaded ball first. I used 3mm firepolish beads for making the rabbit head, ears, body, hands and feet. Eyes and nose are made with 3 mm bicone plastic beads. You will need about 40cm fishing line (or nylon thread) for each beaded ball so that you have enough thread left for the ears, eyes, nose, hands and feet plus restringing the whole figure.

How to Make an Ornate Beaded Bead

This beaded bead follows similar technique as the crystal ball. Most people use 3 or 4 mm Czech fire polished beads or swarovski crystal beads + seed beads to make this ball. Since I don't have any fire polished or crystal beads at hand, I used hexagon seed beads that are about 3 x 4 mm and size 11 seed beads. I ended up flattening one side of the ball and beaded a ring band to the sides to make it a ring.

More how to make a Heart with Beads

A blog reader sent me this heart pattern - thanks! This pattern is a good example of using the "cross stitch" method (I'm not sure how other people call it but I usually refer it as cross stitch 'cos it looks like a cross). The "cross stitch" method is a basic pattern which you will see throughout this site. For example, the cross, the beaded bead and the two-tone ring . . . are all based on this basic beading technique.

How to Make a Puffy Heart with Beads

I finally got a chance to try making the Puffy Heart. I only have access to a diagram pattern that is written in a language that I can't read so it took me a few tries to get it right. It takes a lot of effort and patience to do but the result is rewarding. I would say this is an advanced project. But it's not that hard if you concentrate on what you're doing and understand the concept behind it. You can attach the finished heart to a key chain, a necklace, bracelet etc. I haven't decided on what to do with the ones I made yet. Will share the finished products with you later...
